Back to Back wins for Crookhaven

Promising three-year-old Crookhaven made it back to back wins when he defeated the older horses at Flemington on New Years Day.

Another in the Kavanagh stable by boom sire Fastnet Rock, Crookhaven was the third of three winners on the day for jockey Glen Boss who predicted a bright future for the gelding.

"If he doesn't win a Group race within 12 months I'm not here," Boss told reporters.

Crookhaven was quick away and settled second behind Smackdown who set a generous pace until the 600 where Boss quickly assumed the lead on Crookhaven. The pair defied all challengers in the run to the line, posting a half head victory over fellow three-year-old Red Inca with Diamond Diggler a long neck away in third.

The win was the second in just five starts for Crookhaven who races in the blue and gold stars of Pacific Bloodstock. He is set to race next on the 19th of January at Flemington.
