Partnership Announcement
Kavanagh Racing is pleased to announce a training partnership for the commencement of the 2021-2022 racing season. Mark and Levi Kavanagh will be training together as one entity under the Kavanagh Racing banner.
Mark, winner of 21 Group 1 races, including a Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup, is looking forward to the next chapter in training alongside Levi.
“We have always had a training partnership on the cards, but timing has been the key. As we stand Levi has proven himself as a trainer in his own right. Since taking out his license in 2016 he has been able to produce plenty of winners including Stakes winners Soho Ruby, Kentucky Breeze and Wild Vixen, all of which he purchased himself. I am extremely proud of his achievements as a trainer," said Mark.
Levi also believes the partnership is a natural progression for the family business and for his training career. “Dad has achieved so much in his career spanning the last 30 years, so before combining with him I always wanted to produce some results on my own. I am very grateful to my family, friends and clients who supported me," said Levi.
“Training partnerships are becoming exceedingly popular and I am excited to team up with my Father. It makes sense to combine and share the workload from both a horse management and owner engagement perspective.”
The partnership currently has 40 stables at Flemington with the majority of the team consisting of young up and coming horses. The team is looking at growing this base even further over years to come. “This move allows us to continue to grow our stable and meet the demands of the current environment. Combining our stables means that we can work together to figure prominently with stronger numbers for the next season and beyond.”
