Ladies Fundraising Luncheon
Kavanagh Racing hosted its inaugural ladies’ luncheon to raise money for the Cancer Council last Friday at St Andrews Conservatory in Fitzroy. Owners, family and friends thoroughly enjoyed the day and together raised $7,500.00.
“Our first luncheon was more successful than I imagined, we sold every ticket and together we raised $7,500 which is fantastic,” said Isobel Kavanagh.
“The feedback has been extremely positive, and already we have people offering auction items and wanting to book a table for next year.”
“We can’t thank everyone enough, those who attended, especially those that travelled from interstate and of course those who donated.”
“Catherine (Shelley) did a wonderful job as MC as always, reminding everyone why we were there but at the same time ensuring everyone was entertained. Catherine’s band the Vi Queen’s (including Sharon and Shelley) were fabulous.”
“Sharon and Shelley opened with the song ‘Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves’ which was perfect. Marcie Jones was a highlight, as was Marilyn Monroe, the Rocky Horror Show Picture Show, everything really. It was great to see everyone up dancing having a great time.”
Kavanagh Racing are beyond grateful to those who donated auction and raffle items and have listed the companies below with a link to their websites.
“We would not have been able to raise the money we did without the generous donations of these people/companies. Wedding Lane donated over $2,500.00 worth of beautiful Pearls which was extremely generous.”
Moving forward, Kavanagh Racing plan to support a different charity each year.
“Cara did a wonderful job bringing it all together and we are already looking forward to organising next year’s luncheon to support another charity.”
“Thank you again, myself and Cara truly appreciate your support.”
