Vixen Heads North for Millions

Wild Vixen flew to Queensland this week where she will be based for the next three weeks.

Her first assignment is the Listed Magic Millions Nudgee Stakes over 1200 metres on Saturday at Eagle Farm. Her trainer Levi Kavanagh is happy with her work leading into Saturday’s race and equally happy with the barrier draw for the race.

“Wild Vixen has drawn Barrier 8 for her race in Brisbane on Saturday. There looks to be plenty of speed on paper which should suit us down to the ground”, said Levi.

“Although this will be her first time racing in the clockwise direction, her track work going the opposite direction here at Flemington has been very good.

“Glen Boss is on board and he is the right man for the job. If the early speed is on and he can get a nice run with some cover, she will be finishing off strong in the final stages.”

Early next week the daughter of Foxwedge will relocate to the Gold Coast with the plan to start in the Magic Millions Fillies and Mares race over 1300 metres mid-January. The race worth $1,000,000.00 and is part of the feature race day held at the Gold Coast on the 16th of January.

“She is an honest mare who has performed well here in Victoria and deserves a crack at the rich prizemoney on offer at the Gold Coast”, added Levi.

On Saturday Levi also saddles up Nantucket, who is an acceptor for the 3YO 1100 metre race at Caulfield. With the extra distance and addition of blinkers he should be back at his best.

New Year’s Day at headquarters the stable looks forward to Wanda's Legacy racing for the first time in the ‘New Year Sprint’ for 2YO Fillies, and then in form stablemate Montenegro Man later on the card.
