War Ends claims Murray Bridge Gold Cup
Hot on the heels of Atlantic Jewel's Thousand Guineas victory Wednesday was War Ends with a slashing victory of his own in the $82,150 Listed Murray Bridge Gold Cup (1600m).
The son of Redoute's Choice rolled forward from the eight hundred where he was caught deep and was defiant in the straight holding out Sandhill Prince by a nose.
War Ends was ridden by (the now) Queensland based jockey Joe Bowditch who rode Mark Kavanagh's first Group One winner Hard To Get in the South Australian Derby.
The win was War End's first at stakes level and his fifth overall for prizemoney of $216,093.
